Excessive Sweating Surgery
A revolutionary long-lasting surgical treatment for excessive armpit sweating, harnessing the power of Bodyjet liposuction system.
Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a embarrassing condition that blights the lives of many people. The most common areas to be affected are the armpits (known as axillary hyperhidrosis), hands (known as palmar hyperhidrosis), feet (known as plantar hyperhidrosis) and the face.
Patient with excessive armpit sweating have often tried a variety of antiperspirants, wearing loose fitting clothes or avoiding hot environments, all without success. These patients are traditionally treated with Botox™ injections into the armpit, however these have a temporary effect and have to be repeated every 4-6 months.
Mr Karri now offers a revolutionary long-lasting surgical treatment for excessive armpit sweating, harnessing the power of Bodyjet liposuction system. With this technique patients report a significant reduction in the amount of sweating, improving their quality of life and reducing anxiety in social situations.
Am I Good Candidate For Bodyjet Excessive Sweating Surgery?
The best candidates for Bodyjet excessive sweating surgery are;
- Patients who suffer from excessive armpit sweating and not offensive-smelling sweating, an entirely different condition known as bromohidrosis.
- Patients who have been unsuccessful with antiperspirants and lifestyle changes.
- Are generally healthy and do not have a medical condition that could impede healing.
- Do not smoke.
- Have realistic expectations of the results and willing to follow all pre-op and post-op instructions.
Bodyjet excessive sweating surgery is performed under local anaesthetic and involves using the revolutionary Bodyjet liposuction system to remove the eccrine glands in the armpit, which are responsible for sweat production. The surgery is minimally-invasive and requires only two small incisions in the armpit, each measuring less than 10mm. Patients benefit from a quick recovery and reduced sweating within a short time.
During the first week after surgery, the armpit skin will be bruised, firm and lumpy. This is entirely normal and will settle in due course. By six weeks, healing is complete and patients report their excessive sweating has greatly improved or stopped completely.
For the majority of patients, only a single treatment is required to achieve a significant long-lasting reduction in armpit sweating. If sweating remains troublesome then the surgery can be repeated.
Prior to surgery, Mr Karri and his team will give you detailed aftercare instructions. This will include how to care for the surgical site and incisions, pain relief that may be used to handle discomfort and when you can resume normal activity.
